Plan a recurring cleanup without interrupting work or deleting active browser sessions.

Scheduled cleaning should begin with a review, not an automatic delete. Close applications that actively use the data you plan to inspect, connect laptops to power, and confirm that important documents are backed up. Create a Windows restore point before changing system-level settings. A restore point is useful for configuration changes, but it is not a substitute for a file backup.
This guide is written for Windows. Menu names can vary by Windows build and by the PrivaZer version installed. The safest workflow is to download from the site’s download page, verify the source, scan first, and read the category list before approving cleanup.
Do not judge a category only by its size. A small cookie database may contain sign-in sessions, while a large cache is usually reproducible. Likewise, a list of recent files may be useful history even though it is not required for Windows to run.
For scheduled cleaning, separate disposable cache data from settings, credentials, personal files, and recovery information. Cache files are generally recreated. Cookies can contain both tracking identifiers and wanted sessions. Recent-item databases reveal activity but may improve convenience. Registry entries require extra caution because labels alone do not prove that an entry is obsolete.
Use the scan report as a decision aid. If a result is unclear, leave it selected for review but unchecked for deletion, research the owning application, and return later. This approach is slower than one-click cleaning but reduces surprises and creates a repeatable maintenance routine.
Remember that some cleanup choices can sign you out of apps or remove useful history. Normal deletion, cache cleanup, free-space wiping, and secure file erasure solve different problems. On an HDD, overwriting sectors can reduce recovery chances. On an SSD, wear leveling and TRIM mean that overwriting a named file does not provide the same predictable result. For a device sale or transfer, follow the storage manufacturer’s erase guidance and Windows reset process.
Never disable antivirus protection merely to finish a cleanup. If Windows Security blocks the program, verify the download source and digital signature and compare the file with more than one reputable scanner. Avoid copying exception instructions from an unknown site.
Our editorial method uses clean Windows virtual machines, a standard user profile, a test browser profile, and disposable sample files. We record the state before scanning, capture the categories offered, apply only the steps described, restart Windows where relevant, and verify that the test profile and applications still open. We do not treat the amount of deleted data as proof of better performance.
